Nov 21, 2018 - Meg's home from Berkeley for Thanksgiving weekend. Mom's here also and Elaine is flying in on Thanksgiving morning. We'll pick Elaine up on our way to St. Louis for 2 days before heading back to Indy when we'll meet up with the Baumgardners

Nov 22, 2018 - We're headed to St. Louis for Thanksgiving.

Since it's a 5 hour drive, we had to leave early

Dec 18, 2018 - Meg's back for her Christmas break. Since she's got such a long break we decided to spend a few days in Chicago.

Dec 19, 2018 - After our drive to Chicago, we spent the day exploring.

Pretty 3 hr drive to Chicago

We stayed at a Marriott and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go

The lion in front of the Art Institute is ready for the holidays. The building was part of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.

The Patriots of the Harold Square Monument (George Washington in the middle)

Marina City was designed by Bertrand Goldberg in 1963, as a mixed design use building. The buildings have a similarity to the Illinois corncobs.

An example of the Chicago window, which was a window that became popular in the late 19th and early 20th century. The window is characterized by a large central fixed pane and angled windows with operable sash windows. The central pane provides light and views and the side panels provide ventilation.

For dinner we met up with Meg's Westfield friend, Sophie, who now lives in Chicago.

Dec 20, 2018 - On our way home we stopped at the Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House for a tour.

The Robie House is an example of the Prairie style

Dec 21, 2018 - We're back in Indy and today Elaine gets here. We're headed to Newfields in the evening for the holiday light show.

Dec 23, 2018 - Today we'll get ready for the Baumgardners' arrival tomorrow. We'll make some pies, wrap presents and then go out to dinner at St. Elmo's, downtown.
