Jan 26 to 30, 2023 - Our trip south was a little late this year, and we had to head out without de-winterizing the van. We stopped for a visit at Bob's, and Debbie and Chucks and wow was it ever cold. It was our first time camping in the van in the teens, and Tiny did a great job keeping us warm. We've gotten used to using water from a gallon jug, and a bin in the sink until we get to warmer weather and can add water to the van and de-winterize.
Yay! On the road!

We were awakened one night to the sound of a mouse in the cabinets above my bed. I guess he was cold too, and decided our van was a great place to live. We set up sticky traps for him under the cabinet flooring, where the lighting wires are located. We were happy to catch him the next night.
It was a bit cold this morning (15 degrees outside and 55 degrees inside). Since we were low on propane, we didn't have the thermostat set as warm as we usually like it.
Jan 31 to Feb 3 - Next we headed to Springfield, MO to see Aunt Gerry & Uncle Gene, but unfortunately Aunt Gerry wasn't home, so we got just a quick visit with Uncle Gene and Maribelle. After an evening with pizza and a movie, we headed to Bentonville, AR to visit the Crystal Bridges Art Museum (the art collection of the Walmart Waltons and someplace we've had on our list for quite awhile) We were disappointed to find that it was closed due to the bad weather. We hadn't had any trouble getting there, but the town roads weren't all that clear, and most parking lots were a sheet of ice. We decided to keep heading south and drove to Muskogee OK where we spent the night in a Walmart parking lot. The next day we drove a few more hours south and made it to Durant OK, to the Choctaw Casino, where Kev was happy to spend a few hours playing poker. Friday we finally made it to Texas! We spent the afternoon in Fort Worth in the Stockyard district. It was a beautiful sunny warm day!
We've missed Maribelle! (and Uncle Gene & Aunt Gerry!)
