Jan 24, 2026 - It's a beautiful Saturday and we decided to hike Islay Hill, the southernmost volcanic peak of the Nine Sisters. The trailhead is at the end of Sweet Bay Lane in SLO, near the airport. It is a 1.8 mile out and back hike and is 775 feet high, (a 550 ft elevation gain). It was a nice easy trail around the hill and when we got to the top we found a cow!

Jan 25-30, 2026 - It was a fun week at work, a trip to Home Depot, lots of swinging and Kevin made some patio furniture out of the deck that Elaine & Ian want to get rid of.

We got to Home Depot and found that we had the wrong stroller that goes with this car seat. Oh well, the car seat fits in the cart. Marilyn can't believe we did that!

Jan 31, 2026 - It's another beautiful Saturday, so we're taking our bikes to the Bob Jones Trail just outside of SLO off of Highway 101. It's a 3 mile paved trail that goes to Avila Beach. When we got to the trail head and were getting our bikes ready we realized we left our bike batteries at home! First time we've done that, and I think it will be the last time too. Luckily the trail is pretty flat, so we decided to do the ride anyway. It wasn't too bad, except in a couple spots where we really appreciated that usually we have an e-bike.

Feb 1, 2026 - Today we're walking to Sea Pines Golf Course for brunch! From 11-1 on Sundays they have live music. It was a great day to have brunch on the patio.
