May 21-25 2026 - After a few days in Indianapolis, getting unpacked and reacquainted with our house, we packed up again and headed to Sebring for a quick visit with Mom, for her 91st birthday!
We enjoyed a ride down to the lake in the golf cart

Sandy Springs for lunch
and we got to see my cousin Julie
Ann & Erich were also there for the weekend, so we decided to go to Piccadilly Parlour, in Canfield, for lunch to celebrate Mom's birthday.

May 27, 2026 - Aunt Gerry & Uncle Gene are driving from Springfield and we'll all 4 of us drive together to Annapolis, for Casey & Rebecca's wedding.
We stopped at the Candle Co Outlet Store for a bag lunch on their front porch
We drove about 5 hours and stayed at a Springhill Suites outside of Wheeling WV. Pre-dinner drinks in the hotel room, a little different than usual for us!

Google made a water color painting out of the photo
May 28-29, 2026 - It was another 5 hour drive from Wheeling to Annapolis where we're staying at a VRBO (25 Brewer Ave). The house is huge with 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Steven & Kelly get here later tonight and Meg & Maddy get here tomorrow. There is a big back deck out back and a wrap around front porch. It's located just a half a mile from downtown, so we'll be able to walk if we want to.
Gotta have a fireball shot!

May 31, 2026 - We're starting our drive home today. We decided to stop for a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright house, Fallingwater near Ohiopyle, PA.
We're packing up and heading out
Fallingwater
The iconic photo of Fallingwater
The view from the bridge, as we were walking to the entrance. You can see the stairs that go down to the Bear Run Stream (an arm of the Youghigheny River) that runs under the building
The living room
Fallingwater was built for Edgar Kaufman Sr, who owned the Kaufman's Dept store in Pittsburgh. It was built on land the Kaufman's owned in the Laurel Highlands and had used as a "camp" in the summers. Edgar Kaufman Jr went to school in Europe and came home and apprenticed under Wright. The Kaufman's hired Wright in 1934 to design a house for them. The Kaufman's moved into the house in Nov 1937 and then requested the building of a guest quarters, which was finished in Apr 1939. The final cost of the house and guest wing was $155,000 (about 2.7 million in 2024 dollars) about 4 times the original budget.
