27 June, 2025 - We're home from the UK and happy to enjoy Indianapolis for 6 weeks before our next adventure.
Ann & Erich came for the weekend and Kev & Erich took the kayaks for a paddle
while Ann & I went for a walk
a trip to Costco for Ann's favorite chips
Fireworks display from the Monon bridge
The yacht club does a nice display every year for 4th of July
Next a quick trip to Alliance to visit Mom (we love an early morning walk around the lake)
And we helped Mom declutter the basement in preparation for her move to an apartment in the big house at Copeland
Kev's the shredder
Mom's best friend Marcie came for a visit
All the girls
The de-clutter crew!
When we got home from Alliance, Kevin pulled the trigger on 2 electric bikes for us!
His first ride, after unboxing
Next we took them for a spin on the Monon
We took a ride up to Carmel for the Saturday morning Farmer's Market
Pretty flowers in the plaza
We rode to the grocery store
And another trip to Carmel. Looks like we can get over 45 miles on one battery charge, using mostly pedal assist number 1.
July 26-28, 2025 - Meg & Maddy are flying in for the weekend! It was a rough day getting here for them. Thunderstorms in NYC grounded flights for several hours. Their 2:00 flight was delayed and then canceled. They eventually found another Indy flight that had also been delayed and flew out at 11:00 getting into Indy at 1:00AM. It was a LONG day! We spent the weekend catching up with them and playing games. Saturday we went Duck Pin Bowling in Fountain Square and stopped for a beer at Upland Brewery. For dinner we walked to Canal Bistro. Sunday was more laid back with a bike ride to downtown Broad Ripple. We headed to the airport at 3:00 only to find that their flight home had been cancelled. There weren't any other American flights to NYC Sunday night, so they got a flight out at 1:00 Monday afternoon! We were happy to get a little extra time together, but what a tough weekend of travel for them!
Meg and I rode up the Monon to Rise and Roll for our favorite donuts, and we ended up in a snow storm (it was the finish line of a half marathon and 5K for Christmas in July)
We love Rise n Roll!
The ride down the Monon wasn't quite as crowded.
Atomic Duck Pin Bowling
Cheers!
The bowlers
Next a quick beer at Upland Brewing
And of course a game of Wingspan
Sunday afternoon ride to downtown Broad Ripple
We parked our bikes in the Broad Ripple comb bike rack
Maddy made us her famous sandwiches for lunch
Some Guinness cheers (I've got new Guinness half pint glasses!)
