We're Going Nomad!

September 20, 2026 - We woke up to a rainy, cloud covered day.  So happy it was the day after the wedding!  We're making a beeline for home, after helping Meg & Maddy get Camp Canaras back in order and saying good-bye to all of our favorite people!

A cloudy view of the lake this morning

the deck looks good even in the fog

the photographer had taken polaroids over the weekend and had them on a table at breakfast.  It was so fun to see what was there!

I of course took pics of my favorites!

the flowers are still pretty!

old, bald, funny guys!

September 22-29, 2026 - We decided, when we got home from our 7 months in California, that maybe we don't need our house any more.  Over the last few years we've been on the road more than we are at home, so we put our townhouse on the market in June and we'll put everything in storage for awhile.  We had picked Indianapolis after we retired, because it was in between our parents and we were happy to have it as a home base for the last 10 years.  We got an offer on the house, right as we were getting ready to leave for M&M's wedding, and everything has been moving forward with the closing scheduled for September 30th.  We have a lot to do!  Kev's been busy selling stuff we don't want to store and we're taking a lot of trips to Goodwill as we pack what we do want to keep.  We've got a storage unit near Mom, so that we can check on it when we're visiting her and swap out things we need/don't need.  Erich is coming for 2 days to help with some packing and the use of his pick up.  It's a tight timeline, but I think we're going to make it!

Dinner at BR Brew Pub

the mattresses are going to the dump (we don't think they will store well)

a trip to Goodwill with a nice looking spider's web in the corner of the garage door

When we moved one of bookcases, we found this on the back "Christmas 1992  Not as good as we hope but not as bad as we feared"  signed by Kev, Erich and Dad after they made it one Christmas break.

Signs for the girls, that Kev made, which used to be on the refrigerator in Westfield.

September 30, 2026 - The closing was today!  A young guy bought it, and we think he's going to love living there as much as we did!

Conner's for a celebration Guinness!

And a ride on the Monon.  We're sure gonna miss our trail!

Oct 1-7, 2026 - We've got a week before turn over the townhouse to the new owner, and we've still got a lot to do, but the finish line is in sight!

One final trivia night at Alley Cat (I love the murals there!)

The bartender knows our drinks, a full Guinness for Kev, and a half pint for me

"The Blue Shirts" (although none of us had blue shirts on tonight)

We picked up our 26 ft U-Haul and Naptown moving is coming tomorrow to load it for us.

We filled the whole thing up!

and we're headed to Alliance to drop it all off

The back of the corner cabinet my Dad made for us "Jennifer & Kevin July 4, 1992 You might not see the mistakes from a galloping horse.   Love George K Weimer"

After driving back to Indy from Alliance, we had one last night in the townhouse.  We had to use our camp chairs from the RV and we slept on our camp cushion.  One last totino's pizza before we leave tomorrow for TEXAS!

Good Bye Indianapolis!

Oct 8-11, 2026 - Our first trip is to Livingston Texas where we are going to "live".  We're using Escapees as our mail service, since we will be living on the road.  We need to register our cars, get drivers licenses and check out our new town of Livingston.

we were able to register the Pathfinder, but Indiana gave us the wrong type of vehicle on our RV.  They said we needed to go back to Indy and have it changed to "MH-motorhome".  They had called Tiny a "4H-4 door hatchback"!!!  Luckily we're going to Indy in a few weeks for all of our yearly doctors' appointments.

We stayed at Lake Livingston SP in Livingston.  It's a beautiful lake!

and the camping was great!

Cathy came from Marble Falls for the weekend!

We always enjoy time with Cathy and Rene

nice sunset over Lake Livingston

a Livingston Texas bench!

Oct 12-14, 2026 - We got everything done we needed to in Livingston, so we're headed North, and decided to stop for a visit with Aunt Gerry and Uncle Gene.  The weather is going to be in the low 90's so Tablerock Lake will be a great spot to spend a few days!

pretty morning leaving Texas

The fireball gang is back together

Mirabelle with her toy donut

a beautiful day on the lake

Oct 15-18, 2026 - Next stop a visit to Sullivan to visit Deb and Chuck and organize our stuff we left there in a hurry on our way to Texas.  We have RV and garage stuff stacked up in our shabin.  And it was a good time catching up with Deb.

a nice day for a walk around a local festival (and a chili cook-off)

We're officially Texans!

video chat with Marilyn!

Oct 19-21, 2026 - Next we're headed to an Airbnb on College Ave in Indianapolis for 4 days.  We'll get our RV title changed and get all of doctors' appointments out of the way.

Hi Marilyn

Our Airbnb is south of where we used to live and it's a 3 block walk to the Liter House, so we of course had to visit.

cute benches in front of a book store

pizza rolls at Killroys!

we always meant to stop at the Red Key Tavern and it's just across the street from us.  We had dinner...a $7 burger and a braunsweiger sandwich, and a few beers all for under $30!

I've always loved the old neon sign when we drove by

Brothers Bar for trivia with Mike, and we came in 5th out of 19 teams!

Oct 23-26, 2026 - Next we're at Ann & Erich's for 5 days.  It's nice to relax, play some games and do some fun things while the weather is nice.

A stroll through Fulton Market, in downtown Cincinnati

Lunch at the Cincinnati Art Museum...love this painting

The Charlie Harper Exhibition is going on, so we got 4 free tickets for it with our Newfields membership.  These were some of Harper's painting things

this was a print by his wife

I loved the bright orange of this painting

I liked all the entwined birds in this one

And this was done as a poster for the Keys in Florida

At the end of the exhibit, they had paper and colored pencils for us to make our own art

It was quite an interesting exhibit.  Harper lived in Cincinnati, and is known for his bird art and nature in general.  He illustrated books and magazines in the 60's and 70's.

We went for a beautiful walk in a local park

Oct 27-29, 2026 - Our final stop before our 5 weeks in NYC is 4 days with Mom.

a fall walk around her lake
