Wednesday June 8, 2022 - After a picnic lunch at a park in Watson Lake, we drove a few more hours looking for a spot to stay. We had a provincial park picked out but when we got there it was closed. This part of the Yukon is very remote, many of the lodges that are listed in the Milepost are closed. We finally found a spot called the Continental Divide Lodge. It didn't look all that great, but was only $30/night and came with free laundry...who can pass that up! The laundry was in the "motel" which was a creepy looking double wide trailer, but wasn't all that bad on the inside. There isn't any electric way out here, and most of these lodges run with generators.
Thursday June 9, 2022 - It was another 3 hour drive today. We drove 2 hours to the town of Teslin and went to the Tlingit Heritage Centre. There was a lot of art work in the museum (lots of wooden masks and beading) and it was an interesting hour. After the museum we had our picnic lunch on the lawn of the Heritage center. It was a beautiful view of Teslin Lake. After lunch it was an hour to our campsite at Caribou RV park 15 minutes outside of Whitehorse, and we were happy to have dinner out at the Wolf's Den at the campground.
